About Your Hosts and B&B
Welcome, we are your hosts Karin & Matthias. Originally from Switzerland we worked in various positions within the Hospitality industry, including managing a Nespresso Boutique (Matthias) for the past few years while Karin was busy working for FIFA.
At some point, and with the blessing of our families and friends, we decided to turn our dream of running a B&B in the Rocky Mountains into reality.
Both of us are mountain lovers and during the summer, if time permits, you will find us riding our bikes through Canmore, hiking around Grassi Lakes, or simply taking a peaceful walk along the Bow River in the evening. In the winter we can be found on the slopes of one of the various ski hills in the area. Lake Louise, Nakiska, Norquay, and Sunshine ski resorts are all within one hours drive of the Howling Wolf.
We look forward to hosting guests from all over the world and making you feel at home, far away from home.
Your accommodation is a beautifully crafted south facing home with an open concept floor plan. The upper level enjoys vaulted pine ceilings and large rake windows to capture the stunning mountain views of the Three Sisters mountain range and Peaks of Grassi.
On the upper level you will enjoy your daily breakfast together with other guests at our spacious breakfast table, or out on the south facing deck while enjoying the sun and the breathtaking scenery.
And for those times when relaxing moments are required you can settle down in the living room in front of the wood burning fireplace.
Whilst staying at the Howling Wolf our guests are welcome to explore the beautiful scenery of the Bow River, the breathtaking mountain ranges, and picnic places with one of our free to use and easy to ride bikes which are ideal for using on the unpaved trails around town, or taking for a spin down the spectacular Rocky Mountain Legacy Trail towards Banff. The bikes are a town/cruiser style offering a comfortable way to enjoy nature on two wheels. Various bike sizes for ladies and gents, along with helmets and locks, are available.
Other features include a sauna house (operational mid-November until the end of March), a covered bike stand, and free parking on the premises.
